A very nice French team called Yann and Thibault came up witht the idea for this one. Originally they had lots of people dressed as Santa doing good deeds. I suggested instead of them dressing like Santa, what if they all were Santa: cast someone who looks like the old Coke painting of Santa Claus and add make-up and prosthetics to get the likeness perfect. Bit of a Being John Malkovich cliche, but you get a world where everyone is Father Christams. Then have one of them share a Coke with another and at that moment we flip the film and see that all the Santas were real people, but by being kind they were revealing their inner Santa. Coke got frightened about suggesting that an old white man could represent kindness, so we weren’t allowed to see a direct transition from Santa to real people, but it still sort of works. And we got a famous woman to sing the song. Can’t remember what she’s called though.
